This included time devoted to training physicians in Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and Latin America, where his exposure to a polio epidemic and coup d’état influenced his professional perspective and worldview. Ben also has provided medical consulting and editing in a variety of roles, including as a member of the World Health Organization HIV Clinical Guidelines Development Group from 2015 to 2018.
