Aging with HIV
As individuals with HIV live longer due to advances in treatment, many face age-related health issues like heart disease, bone thinning, and memory problems. For many people living with HIV, the other health conditions (comorbidities) that happen as they age may require more medical care and can complicate HIV management. For educators, it is important to understand aging to provide comprehensive, coordinated support that addresses both HIV and age-related conditions. By understanding and focusing on the needs of aging folks living with HIV, educators can better impact their quality of life, continuity of care, and support their overall well-being.
